What it does
ShareX is a Windows app for capturing your screen. You can grab the whole screen, a window or an area, take scrolling screenshots, and record videos or GIFs. A built-in editor lets you add arrows, text and blur before you save, copy or upload the image, and it can then copy a share link for you. It also includes extras such as text recognition (OCR), a color picker, QR codes and image and video converters. It is for anyone who takes a lot of screenshots. It installs with a normal Windows setup file and needs no account.

What Radar could not check
- Which upload service, if any, is turned on by default after a capture, and where those files end up.
- Whether OCR and the background remover run fully offline or download extra parts on first use.
- Real disk and memory use while recording long screen videos.
