D2R Mobile

Radar found strong risk signals in this project. It stays visible so you can read the evidence, but it is left out of rankings and recommendations.
What it does
D2R Mobile is a compatibility layer that runs the Nintendo Switch version of Diablo II: Resurrected (with the Reign of the Warlock expansion) on iPhone, iPad, Apple silicon Mac, Android and HarmonyOS, with touch controls and extra endgame modes. It ships no game content: you supply your own game files, and the tools rewrite the game program and translate its shaders on your computer. The Mac route means installing Xcode and Python tools and building from source. You must extract the files from your own Switch copy, which needs console keys and extra tools.
How easy it is to install
E · developers only · macOS
On an Apple silicon Mac it is grade E: you need Xcode, Homebrew and llvm, the game files from your own Switch copy, then run ./setup.sh and dm/tools/mac_app.sh to build the app yourself; there is no ready Mac download. Windows and Linux can only be used to prepare an install package for a phone, not to play, and phones are not graded by Radar.
Coming soon: install in 1 click with the RepoPicks app.

Risk signals (5)
- Highneeds console game files and keys
README.md: "If what you have is a whole game package (`.xci` / `.nsp`), `./setup.sh <game package> <prod.keys>` first extracts the game files into place and then carries on (install hactool first)". Getting `prod.keys` and decrypting Switch game packages means bypassing the console's own protection, which is against the law in several countries even when you own the game.
AI review
- Attentionderived from commercial game
README.md: the program rewriter "Rewrites only the few instructions that cannot run unchanged under Apple's kernel" and "shaders are translated offline from the game's originals"; the repository carries "shader interface descriptions, the graphics API function table, addresses inside the program and the like" (docs/DERIVED.md). No permission from the game's publisher is shown, so the project can be taken down or blocked at any time.

- Infovery young repo many stars
Repository created 2026-10-12 with 4765 stars, 1266 forks and 23 releases by 2026-10-28, so all of it is about two weeks old.

- Infoclaims measured by authors
The 60 fps, 3.8 W and launch-time figures, and the Android and HarmonyOS numbers, were measured by the project's own authors on their own devices ("Measured by the port's authors on their phones"). The Mac build's keyboard and gamepad are described as "not been operated by a person yet", and the Apple TV port "Reached the character-selection screen" only.
AI review
- Infoself signed install expires
README.md on signing for iPhone: "a free Apple ID works too (no iCloud save sync, and the app has to be re-signed and reinstalled every 7 days)".

What Radar could not check
- Whether it is lawful where you live to extract and decrypt the files from your own Switch copy
- Whether the frame rate, battery and launch figures hold on your own device
- Real disk use: the game resources are about 5.6 GB plus the build workspace on your computer
- Whether the tools work with any game version other than the Switch 1.0.34.0 release they target
- Whether the files offered on the releases page match the source code in this repository
