What it does
Dify is a platform for building apps powered by AI models. In a web page you drag blocks onto a canvas to make chatbots, workflows and AI agents, feed them your own documents (PDFs, slides and more), connect hundreds of AI models and tools, and watch the logs once they run. It is for teams and makers who want to build AI apps with little code. You can use the hosted Dify Cloud, or run it yourself with Docker on a machine with at least 2 CPU cores and 4 GB of RAM. Either way you need an AI model provider, usually a paid API key.

In the browser it is easiest: Dify Cloud is hosted for you, so you only create an account and add a model key. Running it on your own Windows, Mac or Linux machine is much harder: you need Docker with Docker Compose 2.24 or later, you copy a settings file and run "docker compose up -d" in a terminal, and the only files in the releases are difyctl, a command-line helper.

What Radar could not check
- Whether Docker Desktop on Windows runs the full set of Dify services without extra tuning.
- Real disk and memory use once all containers, databases and documents are loaded.
- Real AI cost, which depends on the model provider and how much the apps are used.
- Whether the default settings in .env.example are strong enough for a server open to the internet.
- What the new difyctl command-line helper in the releases installs and changes on your machine.
