Craft Launcher
storytold/craft-launcherReviewed by Radar
What it does
ArtCraft Launcher is a small desktop app that lists the free, open-source Craft App Suite (image, video, vector, PDF, office, CAD and audio tools), installs the right version for your computer, checks each download against its published checksum, and tells you when updates are out. It can sit in the system tray. It is for anyone who uses the Craft apps and does not want to visit a dozen download pages. Windows, Mac and Linux get ready installers. The project says it is in early alpha.

README.md (Where apps are installed): on Windows each app goes to "C:\Program Files\<App>" through "The release MSI, through Windows Installer", and "Update and restart downloads it, verifies it, puts it where this copy is installed". The README says every download "is checked against the release's published SHA-256 before it is installed".

What Radar could not check
- Whether installing an app into C:\Program Files asks for administrator permission on Windows
- How much disk space the Craft apps you install take; the 9–27 MB figure covers only the launcher
- How stable the launcher is, given its early alpha status
- Whether update checks keep working when GitHub limits how often it can be asked
- The Craft apps themselves, which this card does not cover
