AI Job Search

ai-job-search-dev/ai-job-searchReviewed by AI

What it does

This is a set of commands and skills you add to Claude Code to run your job search on your own computer. After you fill in a profile, /scrape searches job portals, /rank sorts postings by fit, /apply writes a tailored CV and cover letter in LaTeX and compiles them to PDF with an ATS text check, and /interview builds a prep pack. It is for job seekers who are happy in a terminal: you need Claude Code with a paid Claude plan or API credits, plus Python, Bun and a LaTeX install. The portal searches it ships with are Danish, LinkedIn and a tech aggregator.

How easy it is to install

D · terminal, several tools or a specific graphics card · Windows

  • Windows D
  • macOS D
  • Linux D

All three systems are a D: the 'What you need' table asks for Claude Code, Python 3.10+, Bun and a full LaTeX distribution with lualatex and xelatex, and you then clone the repository and run commands such as 'python3 tools/install_portal_clis.py' before the slash commands work. There are no ready binaries in any release.

  • Attentionpublic copy exposes personal data

README step 1: 'A fork of this repo is always public — GitHub does not allow private forks of public repositories — and /setup... writes your personal data (name, contact details, employment history, salary expectations) into tracked files.' The README's own advice is to use a private repository instead.

  • Attentionautomated access against portal terms

README, 'Job search tools': the linkedin-search skill is 'built on LinkedIn's public, unauthenticated jobs-guest endpoints' and is 'Intended for personal use only — automated access is against LinkedIn's Terms of Service, so keep volume low.' It also says auth-walled portals are declined and restrictive-terms portals get a personal-use warning.

    AI review

  • Attentionprompt injection defenses not a sandbox

README warning in step 5: 'Postings are treated as untrusted input... but agentic defenses are instruction-level, not a sandbox - on an unfamiliar job board, skim what was fetched and written before you hit send.'

    AI review

  • Infooptional access to email and notes

The command list includes '/gmail-sync — Proposes application status updates from your Gmail' and '/notion-sync — Publishes a read-only view of your pipeline to Notion', so those steps hand the assistant access to your mailbox and Notion workspace.

    AI review

  • Inforesults are the author own account

README 'Does it actually work?': 'Sixty-nine tailored applications, twenty first interviews, and one signed contract later, I started as an AI engineer in June 2026.' These are the author's own numbers about his own job search.

    AI review

  • Inforepository moved to a new account

The repository now sits at ai-job-search-dev/ai-job-search, while the README badge still reads 'MadsLorentzen%2Fai-job-search'; the deterministic check notes the owner account is 10 days old, even though the repository dates from 2026-03-18.

What Radar could not check

  • Whether it leads to more interviews for you
  • What the Claude usage really costs per application
  • Whether the LaTeX templates compile on your own TeX install
  • Whether the Danish portal searches can be replaced for your country without work
  • Whether the integrity gate catches every instruction hidden in a job posting
